ಕಡಲೆರಡು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲಿ ನೀರರಾಶಿಯದೊಂದು |

ಬಿಡುಗೊಳದ ಮನುಜಮಾನಸರಾಶಿಯೊಂದು ||

ಅಡಿಗಡುಗಳುಂಟು ನೀರ‍್ಗದನೆಳೆವ ಭಟರುಂಟು |

ತಡೆಯುಂಟೆ ನರಮನಕೆ? - ಮರುಳ ಮುನಿಯ || (೭೯೧)

ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಮುದ್ರಗಳಿವೆ. ಒಂದು ನೀರಿನರಾಶಿ. ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ವಿಚಾರಧಾರೆ. ಆ ನೀರಿನ ಕೆಳಗಡೆ ಗಡಿಗಳಿವೆ(ಅಡಿಗಡುಗಳು). ಅದನ್ನು ನೀರಿಗೆ ಎಳೆಯುವ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತಡೆಗಳಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಹಾರುತ್ತದೆ.
