ಬಡವರೊಳು ಬಡವನಹ ಧನಿಕರೊಳು ಧನಿಕನಹ |
ಹುಡುಗರೊಳು ಹುಡುಗನಹ ಮುದುಕರೊಳು ಮುದುಕಂ ||
ಪಡುವನವನೆಲ್ಲರೊಡನವರವರ ಪಾಡುಗಳ |
ಕೆಡದೆ ತನ್ನೊಳು ಯೋಗಿ - ಮರುಳ ಮುನಿಯ || (೭೩೯)

ಯೋಗಿಯಾಗಿರುವವನು, ಬಡವನ ಜೊತೆ ಬಡವನಾಗಿಯೂ, ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರ ಜೊತೆ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತನಾಗಿಯೂ, ಹುಡುಗರ ಜೊತೆ ಹುಡುಗನಾಗಿಯೂ, ಮುದುಕರ ಜೊತೆ ಮುದುಕನಾಗಿಯೂ ಅವರುಗಳು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅವಸ್ಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಾನ್ನು ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಕೆಡದೆ ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

The yogi lives as a poor man when among the poor,
As a rich man when among the wealthy, he joins the children
As a child and behaves like an old man among the old,
He plays all different roles suitable to the company he keeps,
But never parts with his purity and identity – Marula Muniya (739)
