ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಮೂಲವೇಂ ದೃಷ್ಟವಸ್ತುವಿನೊಳಗೊ |
ಸಂದರ್ಶಕೇಂದ್ರಿಯದ ರುಚಿಶಕ್ತಿಯೊಳಗೋ ||
ಸಂಧಿಯೋ ದೃಷ್ಟದರ್ಶಕರುಭಯಗುಣದೊಳದು |
ಸಂಧಾನಬಿಂದುವಲ - ಮರುಳ ಮುನಿಯ || (೫೩೪)

ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಮೂಲ ನಾವು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಸ್ತುವಿನೊಳಗಡೆ ಇದೆಯೋ? ಅಥವಾ ಅದು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವವ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳ ರುಚಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿದೆಯೋ? ಅಥವಾ ಇವೆರಡರ ಸಂಯೋಗವೋ? ಅದು ಕಾಣದ ವಸ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ನೋಡುವವರು ಇವೆರಡರಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸುವ ಸೇತುವೆ ಸ್ಥಾನವಾಗಿದೆ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?
